Altered Books:
The following series of pictures illustrate the
altered book made for the Quilting Arts altered book challenge
for the Summer 2004 issue. Using photos taken at Spring Grove
cemetery while visiting in Ohio, these "angels" depict the more
shadowy nature of human existence. Each page was made as a
pocket and contains an organza envelope that holds inside it a
poem written as if from the voice of the angel illustrated
(sorry, the envelopes and poetry are not shown).
